I’m
When I get good news I take it as a sign from god. I’m a Very Good boy. I count my lucky stars but never pluck them into my pocket. When the leaves change I stand under branches to bear witness to them falling. Some things can’t be taught like when to ask the right questions or when to close your doors. If you would like to leave, just ask and I’ll prepare your coat. For a long time I’ve been looking for the right door. God told me heaven is one long hallway. I am something like a soldier or a cup of water. I know how to stand still. I’m like the center of the earth. I’m good to my core. I used to fight for the right of something. Now I sit in a pew to write stories for god. I write down prayers for a newsletter. I take my prayer list to the grocery store. There are so many people to pick up and nowhere to put them down. Get off my back I tell myself. But there’s nowhere to put myself down.
